Description Pure Irish Soft Set Honey Pure Irish Soft Set Honey direct from the bees in Dublin. Delicious, fresh honey from nature to you with minimal filtering, retaining all the natural goodness from the hive. This 227g jar of Pure Irish Soft Set honey is our multi-floral honey that has been slowly churned by hand multiple times over several days to produce a creamy, melt-in-the-mouth consistency. Ideal to spread on bread and toast or simply eat straight from the jar with no drips. Fantastic for children to try to avoid mess. Best kept cool in the fridge to maintain its spreadable texture. Local Irish honey from your local beekeeper. We manage our hives sustainably, only removing the surplus honey at the end of the season. We always leave enough honey for the bees to have food during the times when there may not be anything to forage on or the weather may be too cold to leave the hive.   This is honey from our Native Irish bees foraging on the Spring and Summer blossoms. It has a creamy golden colour and a taste reminiscent of summer meadows.   Did you know? Irish honey, especially multi-floral honeys produced by urban bees have a greater level of antioxidant phenolic compounds than their rural counterparts, a finding possibly due to the flower diversity and abundance surrounding hives. Irish research found a similar overall presence of powerful antioxidants called phenolic compounds in Irish heather honey as has been found in manuka honey. We were delighted to be able to assist in this research programme by providing samples of our Killester honey for testing.
